Since late 2020, Marianna has partnered with three hospitals under St. Marianna Hospital in Japan to deliver her music to patients infected with Covid-19 and frontline healthcare workers all the way from her home in Cincinnati, Ohio. She gives guided performances, suggesting the tone and purpose of the music. Her music is used as a form of medicine to treat patients and workers, bringing them back to life when they've lost all hope.

In February of 2021, Marianna received a letter of recognition from Dr. Takehito Otsubo, the top director of all three branches (one in Kawasaki and two in Yokohama) of St. Marianna Hospital. The letter applauded Marianna for the work she did for them as the only musician responsible for delivering music to the three hospitals under St. Marianna Hospital. The letter recognized that not only was Marianna's music helping a large number of patients, but health care workers also found the hope they need to continue serving patients through my music, as well. “I think the wonderful tone will heal their tired hearts”, the letter wrote (translated from Japanese).

Her inspiration to start this project came when she found out that Covid-19 patients are often admitted to the hospital for long periods of time ranging from days to even months. Because she had seen her mother struggle in the hospital numerous times in 2019, she knew how sad and lonely these patients could feel. With Covid-19, because there is no cure, she knew that these patients were especially prone to feeling this way. She felt the need to help her community overcome this challenge.

St. Marianna Hospital was the only hospital to take in patients infected with Covid-19 when the pandemic first started, they were the only hospital to take in infected patients from the highly publicized Diamond Princess cruise ship, and they are still one of the very few hospitals in Japan to take in patients who are severely ill. She feels honored to serve these patients and frontline workers.
